Died of uremic poisoning at the American Hospital, Paris. Gladys died in 1938. Survivored by two children, Gladys (Mrs. David Barlett) and Herbert Jr. In addition, from Gladys' first marriage, two step-children, Grace (Mrs. Allan Ryan) and Charles M. Amory.
