Her parents were Levi and Mary Bashor Hickey. She lived in Missouri until her marriage, December 35, 1892, to Albert E. Riddlebarger. They located on a farm near Belleville, Kansas, where all but one of their six children were born. She was baptized into the Church of the Brethren in the summer of 1893. In 1902 they moved to Nampa, Idaho, where they lived, with the exception of three and one-half years back in their old home in Kansas, and one year at Covina, California. The following Easter she had a stroke of apoplexy from which she never recovered.
Of the six children born to them, one son and two daughters died in infancy. Left with the husband to mourn her passing are two sons and one daughter: Glenn A., of Placentia, California; Callie Lois Hylton, Laverne, California and William W. of Whitefish, Montana; four grandsons and four grand daughters. Also two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Nannie Daggett of Belleville, Kansas, Mrs. Louie Gebhart of Bolckow, Missouri and Tom N. Hickey of Nampa, Idaho, and many other relatives and friends.
Mother realized all summer that she was going soon, and looked forward to that time gladly. This little verse found in her bible has been a wonderful consolation to her loved ones.
So I'm watching and waiting
Each moment of the day,
for it may be noon or evening
when he calleth me away--
And it makes the day go faster
and its trials easier borne,
When I'm saying every morning
Today the Lord may come.
