Ernest George Morgan, Sr. (Uncle Morg) passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Meadowcrest Hospital in Gretna due to complications from cancer. Mr. Morgan was owner and operator of Morgan's Amoco Service Station in Harvey for 35 years. He was a native of Springhill, La. and a resident of Terrytown for the past 42 years. His wife, Estelle Morgan and son, Ernest Morgan, Jr., preceded him in death. He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Morgan, and three sons, Charles Morgan, Randall Cockerham, and Steve Kaylor; three sisters, Charlene May, Ludy Williams, and Diane Lyles; three brothers, Frank Morgan, Fred Morgan, and David Morgan; eight grandchildren, Candace, Jason, Mandy, Austin, Mike, SheyLynne, Jessica and Stephanie, and six great-grandchildren.

Private services were held on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 for his immediate family. His children would like to extend many thanks for the years of kindness and respect he has received from so many friends and from the Westbank, including those from Morgan's Amoco, Universal Coil, Jennie's, Laurie's, and the Idle Hour. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
