Mrs. S. G. Harberson passed away Wednesday afternoon following a long illness. Mrs. Harberson had been poorly since the death of her husband, Sept 17, 1940, and was cared for most of the time at the homes of her 2 daughters, until recently when she was in the hospital. Elizabeth Wade was born a Perryville, KY on March 21, 1871, and with her husband and family came to Harrington in 1910. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and its auxiliaries and a faithful and regular worker in the church. Surviving Mrs. Harberson are 2 daughters, Mrs. Fred Maschek (Hazel) of Spokane and Mrs. D. W. Buchanan (Rosevelyn) of Davenport; one son, William of Wenatchee; 2 sisters, Mrs. M. F. Adams (Lulu) and Mrs. Mattes (Rose), both of Spokane; one brother, R. C. Wade of Perryville, KY; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted today, July 3 in Spokane by Thornhill-Carey with committal services at Hillcrest Cemetery. (Citizen-July 3, 1942) Following the funeral services in Spokane Friday for Mrs. S. G. Harberson, committal services were held at Hillcrest cemetery where Rev Gordon Winsor officiated. The casket was opened for local friends and relatives who had not been able to attend the Spokane services. Those who served as pallbearers at Hillcrest were Howard Mattes, John Weber, Dr Robert Adams, Lyle Bailey, D W Buchanan and Fred Maschek. Relatives who came to Harrington included Mr. & Mrs. Fred Maschek (Hazel Harberson), Mrs. M. F. Adams, Dr Robert Adams, Mr. & Mrs. Howard Mattes, Spokane; Wm Harberson, Wenatchee; Mr. & Mrs. D. W. Buchanan (Rosevelyn Harberson), Davenport; Mr. & Mrs. John Weber (Marguerite Adams), Uniontown; and Mr. & Mrs. E. S. Anderson, Davenport. (Citizen-July 10, 1942)
