The Weston Democrat, Fri. 1 Dec. 1911 (NOTE: year in news article differs from tombstone):
"CLARK, NATHAN - IN MEMORIAM: Born on the waters of Little Skin Creek December 15, 1839, and lived there all his life. Died November 30, 1911. Leaves a widow, four daughters and three sons, all of whom reside in Lewis county. Nathan, was the son of John Clark and the grandson of William Clark, a Revolutionary War soldier. He was of Scotch-Irish descent. Joined the Confederate Army, was twice wounded, married his nurse, who was Mary Margaret Mohler, a native of Rockbridge county, Va. Married October 16, 1865. Had eight children, all living save one who died in infancy. Funeral rites from the Old Mt. Gilliard Church, interment at Georgetown cemetery."
