A son of Frank (1874-ca. 1912) and Fransiska Kletkotka Dopkowska (1874-before 1980).

Immigration records suggest that he was of Russian ethnicity. According to US Court of Declarations of Intent (in Scranton) from 1906, Peter was born in Russia, but it may be that he was of Polish ethnicity. He immigrated to the U.S. on February 18, 1900, along with his mother, Fransiska, and brother, Seskla or Charles, aboard the S.S. Phoenicia. His father immigrated in 1896, apparently in an effort to raise money to bring the rest of the family across. Entry point to the U.S. was Ellis Island.

Registered for the draft in Detroit, Michigan, June 5, 1917. Occupation at the time: machinist with Packard.

Veteran of the First World War.

Registered for the "old man draft" on April 27, 1942. Listed as 5'3", 170 pounds, brown hair and eyes, light complexion; two toes missing on left foot. Employed at the time by the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board. Resided at 131 Union Street, Taylor, Pa.

*1930 census: Peter Frank Dopko's occupation was listed as machinist
