Anna Lee Bell Romines

Anna Lee Bell Romines, 90, of DeLand, passed away on January 28, 2010 at her residence.

She was born March 9, 1919 in Apison, Tennessee and has been a resident of DeLand since 1958. Anna was a graduate of Ooltewah High School in Tennessee and McKenzie Business College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was an accountant/bookkeeper in Oak-ridge, Tennessee during the war time of the Atomic Bomb.

Anna and her husband were married in 1947 in Tennessee and moved to Miami, Florida, later settling in DeLand in 1958. After her children were grown, she was employed by the Department of Elections and retired in 2002 at the age of 83.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, B.H. (Butch) Romines. She is survived by her son, Ronald H. Romines and wife, Nancy Romines of DeLand; son and caregiver, John L. Romines of DeLand; and daughter, Elizabeth A. (Sissi) Romines and her spouse, David F. Martin of DeLand; two grandchildren, Octavia Pope of DeLand and Benjamin Romines and his wife, Peggy of DeLand; six great-grandchildren, Bailey Romines, Brylee Romines, Brenna Romines, Alex Pope, Austin Pope and Rhett Larose, all of DeLand.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 5-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 1 at 11am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with burial to follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand is in charge of arrangements.
