Jim Foy, 89, of Pensacola, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010. He was born on October 24, 1920 in Newberry, SC and later married Lucy Nell Nalls on April 30, 1943 at Bainbridge, GA. Following service in WWII, Jim returned to Newberry where he and his family lived until he rejoined the military. Following a 20 year career at various locations, he retired in Greeley, CO in 1964. Jim and Nell lived there for 24 years before moving to Pensacola.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Black of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Jean and Dann Mattiza of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 from 1:00pm to services beginning at 1:30pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
