The 1930 census of April 14, revealed they owned their farm valued at $900 free of mortgage and they lived at 200 Happy Top Road in District #1, Roane County, Tennessee. James was not a veteran. James was twenty-two and Almeda was twenty-one when they were married. They and their parents were all born in Tennessee. Household members: Jim Bullard (64), Meade (63), Blanche (26) and Virgil (18).

The 1940 census of April 9, revealed their real estate value was $500. Their son, Ralph and family lived with them at 3A Emory Heights Road in Rural Roane County, Tennessee. Almeda died at age seventy-nine on July 6, 1948 in Harriman, Roane County, Tennessee. Her parents, James Monroe Coley and Emaline Nicholson were born in Roane County, Tennessee. Almeda was buried in Swan Pond Cemetery.

Almeda lived to age 79.
