Ernest Casanova
NORWAY--Ernest A. Casanova, 76, of Norway died Wednesday in Norway.
Mr. Casanova was born May 11, 1908, in Norway, son of the late Frank and Barbara Casanova. He Married Gladys Benney on July 19, 1929, in Bowling Green, Ohio. She preceded him in death March 12, 1983. He retired in 1980 as an operating engineer for Champion Inc., where he had worked for 30 years. He was a member of the Cement Masons Union Local No. 39 and the Operating Engineers Union Local No. 324.
Survivors include three sons, Melvin of Geneseo, Ill.; James of Norway and David of Glendale Heights, Ill.; a daughter, Marion Pollard of Norway; a brother, Michael of Norway; four sisters, Anna Larson, Amelia Van Laere, and Rose Paquette, all of Norway, and Barbara Wilson of Milwaukee, and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Charles, and one sister, Louise Kurtz.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Miner Funeral Home in Norway. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Emmett Coons officiating. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
