Robert D. Couture, 85, of Warrenton, Mo., and formerly of Rice Lake died Jan. 14 at his home. Memorial services were Saturday at College Methodist Church in Warrenton. Burial was Monday in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery im St. Louis.

Mr. Couture was born Feb. 1, 1924 to Wilfred and Laura (Oleson) Couture in Rice Lake. He graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1942. He then joined the Army Air Corps and served in Europe during World War II. He married Priscilla Greenwold on Oct. 14, 1945. They moved from Rice Lake after he accepted a manager position with Consolidated Freightways in Fargo, N.D. After several transfers they settled in St. Charles, Mo. His wife died in 1994. He married Betty Lewis in 1997. He worked at Schnuck Markets after retirement. He was a member of the Elks, Masons and Eastern Star. He enjoyed singing in church choirs.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Sheri Clayton and Peggy Black, both of St. Charles; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Fran Sievers of Rice Lake.
