Judy Faye Sigmon, 62, of Hickory, died Aug. 5, 2002, at Hospice of Catawba Valley after a period of declining health.
Born Dec 11, 1939, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd R. and Mary Lucille Fulbright Sigmon, Sr.
A lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church, she retired as a teacher with St. Stephens Elementary School after 31 years of service. She was a member of the North Carolina Educational Association, National Parent-Teachers Association and the Westmont Community Development Association.
Survivors include two brothers, Cloyd R. Sigmon, Jr. of Catawba and Rex G. Sigmon of Hickory; and a number of nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Greg Williams at 2 p.m. Thursday at her church.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will be at Hickory Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., NE, Hickory, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
