He and Rosie grew up together and on Dec 14, 1919 he married Rosa Belle Caudle. They ran off and didn't tell her father, she was 15 and he was 19. Two weeks later he ran into his new father-in-law Nathan who told him since the deed was done, they might as well come home and move in with him, which they did and remained in the home, raising their three children in the house she was born & raised in, that her father had built for his wife Maggie.
They farmed and also farming her fathers land after he no longer could, and remained doing so after he passed. Later finally selling it and moving to Mountain Grove, then moving to Springfield buying a house next to their daughter.
Everyone who spoke of them said that they were just as much in love with one another in later years, as the day they fell in love.
One morning Con found Rosie on the bathroom floor, who had collapsed from a heart attack. He either tired to get her up or the shock from the loss of his beloved wife, he passed as well. They were found together with him laying by her and her hand on him. They had been married 62 years 8 months and 3 days.
So as they were in life, they remain together, joining the Lord that day, hand in hand.
Children are:
