NILES - Jason Dale Arnold, 48, of Sunset Ridge Court, Niles, Michigan died at 3:47 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN, form injuries sustained in a fall. He was born on May 6, 1961 in Niles, MI, to Dale L. and Freida G. (Price) Arnold. He graduated from Niles High School in 1979 and was a lifetime resident of Niles. Jason earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Communications from Albion University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and later in 1985, he earned his Master's degree in Special Education from Western Michigan University. He was employed at Lighthouse Education Center, Saint Joseph, MI. Jason was a member of the Church of Christ on Huron Street, Niles. He excelled in sports in high school and played basketball at Albion University. While in high school he was named to the All Conference and All State-2nd Team Basketball. He coached in Buchanan Basketball leagues and some baseball little leagues. Jason enjoyed hunting, golfing, snowmobile riding, boating and was an avid Notre Dame fan. On June 18, 1988 in Niles, he married Karen S. (Knoll) Arnold who survives. He is also survived by his son, Dylan H. Arnold and daughter, Alexis G. Arnold, both at home in Niles; his parents, Dale L. and Freida G. Arnold of Niles; sister, Lori R. Vandagriff of Searcy, Arkansas and nieces, Sarah and Staci Vandagriff, both of Searcy. Services for Jason Dale Arnold will be held at noon on Monday, February 1, 2010 in Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with Mr. David Thompson of the Church of Christ in Niles officiating. Interment will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 an 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Jason may be made to the Church of Christ in Niles or Children's Homes Inc, Paragould, AR.
