He was a lifelong resident of Elyria. Worked as a machinist at Republic Steel plant. Attended Pilgrim Congregational Church and was affiliated with King Solomon Masonic Lodge. Survived by wife, Sylvia; two sons, Edward G. and Arthur, both of Elyria; five grandchildren; a brother Ernest, Elyria, and two sisters, Edith Richards and Emma Crook, also of Elyria.
