CLAUDE G. CARTY, 77, of Memphis, retired zone supervisor for City of Memphis, died of cancer Thursday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He was a World War II Army veteran and a Mason and attended St. John Catholic Church. Mr. Carty, the husband of Mary G. Carty, also leaves a daughter, Barbara Foster of Memphis; a son, Michael Carty of Minneapolis, and three grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 7/17/1994)
