Morris taught school for forty years in Lincoln and Pulaski counties in KY and in Indianapolis, IN. He was a graduate of Berea College, Berea, KY and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Crab Orchard, KY. Morris taught the men's Bible class at the Stanford Baptist Church where he and his wife were members. He was manager of Thompson-Gordon Electric in Stanford at the time of his death. Morris had a heart attack on 21 Aug. 1954 and was thought to be recovering at the time of his death.
