William P. Martine

Following an illness of seven weeks from paralysis, William P. Martine, 86 years old, a veteran of the Civil War, died yesterday morning at the home of his son, William P. Martine, Jr., Shipley Road, Brandywine hundred.

Mr Martine retired about 20 years ago, but up until three years ago he had taken an active interest in fox hunting in Brandywine hundred. During the Civil War he served as a member of the First Delaware Regiment.

Mr. Martine was born in Pennsylvania, and 50 years ago moved to the farm where he died. During the past twenty years the farm has been operated by his sons. He was a member of Chester Bethel M. E. Church for many years.

Mr. Martine is survived by two sons, Joseph H. and Warren E. Martine of Brandywine hundred.
