AMITY -- Ruthie Jean Francis DeLong, 73, of Amity, died March 21, 2004, at her home. She was born April 12, 1930, at Fendley, the daughter of the late Carlie and Annie Mae Breshears Francis. She was the widow of John DeLong and a Pentecost.

Survivors include: Four daughters, Johnnie Ann Davidson of Bismarck, Joanne Smith of Conway, Barbara Russell of Bridgeville, Calif., and Debbie Buck of Alpine; two brothers, Alvin "Pete" Francis and Charles Francis of McKinleyville, Calif.; two sisters, Laurie Thomason of McKinleyville, Calif., and Vivian DeLong Wood of Sacramento, Calif., and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel in Arkadelphia with Rev. Paul Coy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery Fund, Alpine Volunteer Fire Department or to Mirandais Rescue Mission.
