HARDING - Jessie Mary DOUGLAS, 92, of Hollenback, died Thursday evening, July 23, 2009, at the Skilled Nursing Unit in Towanda, Pa. She was born on Dec. 14, 1916, a daughter of the late Lyle and Maude (NICHOLS) HARDING. On June 24, 1939, Jessie married Jonathan "John" DOUGLAS in Meshoppen, Pa. It was a loving and devoted marriage of over 61 years. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2000. Jessie was a loving mother and care giver. She enjoyed attending the Hollenback United Methodist Church. She and her husband enjoyed their time spent camping, and watching horse shows. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens, she especially loved playing dominoes, and found great pleasure in time spent with her family.
Surviving are her children, Philip and Vernie DOUGLAS, of Hanford, Calif., Ivan DOUGLAS, of Hollenback, Pa., Sheila and Edmond JOHNSON, of Hollenback, Pa.; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Warren HARDING; a sister, Norma FINCH; by an infant brother; and an infant grandson.
Friends and family are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at the McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church St., Wyalusing, Pa., and from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service on Monday, July 27.
