Henry was known as "Pat" to all who knew him. Pat served in the United States Army Air Corp and is a veteran of World War II receiving such commendations as the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal-Europe Africa, Middle Eastern Service Medal and Victory Medal TAC. His military career began with MORSE Code training in three "C" which allowed him to serve his country throughout the world including a tour in Romania where he dispatched code on the "Enigma Machine" while living in the attic of the American Embassy. After his honorable discharge Pat continued to service his country by enlisting in the reserves where he was attached to military operations such as Allied Control Commission for Romania as well as being an official of the 10th Airborne Headquarters at Tulln Army Air Base. Pat's career later took him into the Merchant Marines where he retired after many years as a Radio Officer. For the past three and a half years, he spent his week days at the Southeast / Southwest War Veterans Home and his weekends he spent at home with his family.
Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Dorothy Jaster Baham; a daughter, Patricia Ann Baham; a son, Leo "Bernie" Baham and his parents, Henry and Olene Fontenot Baham.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
