William Pinkney Magruder "Pink" resided near the old Presbyterian Church in Hyattsville, Md. He was Mayor of Hyattsville 1909-1911. He was well known for his many generous donations, one being land that enabled the town to create the Magruder Park.

Mr. Magruder married Miss Sarah Frances Casey of Baltimore in 1878, who died in 1915. His second marriage, January 21, 1917, was to Miss Dorothy W. Wilson, of Montgomery County, Maryland, who survives.

He also leaves a son, Frederick B. S. Magruder and a daughter, Mrs. Neuman Y. Dudrow, a grandson, William Y. Dudrow and sisters, Mrs Martha A. Rea and Mrs. Minerva A. Wilson.

Funeral services were held from the First Presbyterian Church of Hyattsville on the 19th of July with interment following in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
