ADAMS, IRENE
Irene Adames was born September 30, 1928 to Margaret and Frank Duffy, in Duluth, Minn. She came to San Diego at about 14 years and attended Our Lady of Peace Academy and San Diego High School. She was proud that she wrote the column "Teen Talk" for the San Diego Union. She went to Dominican College of San Rafael but dropped out after one year to marry David Adams, then nurtured him through medical school. They returned to San Diego where she dedicated her life to being a wife and mother, at which she was wonderful.She was founding member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Allied Gardens and remained very active in the church. She passed away in her sleep September 23, 2003 and is survived by her husband David, and their two daughters Mair Rathburn, and Therese Muranaka. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Monday, September 29, at St. Therese Catholic Church, with Rosary at 10:45 a.m. and Mass immediately following at 11 a.m. There will be a small reception afterward in the church hall, and interment will at Holy Cross Cemetery.
