Age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at his home on Monday, January 25, 2010.

Born on June 5, 1925, Mr. Foley was the son of the late Stephen and Kathryn (Talley) Foley. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Campaign. He worked as a sheet metal worker for Local 19 until his retirement in 1988. He also taught sheet metal at night school at Brown Vo-Tech. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Foley was predeceased his wife of 44 years, Dossie (Kennedy) Foley; his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hughes; and his brothers, James N. Foley and Stephen Foley.

He will be dearly missed by his 4 daughters, Sonyia K. Brake and her husband, James J. of Wilmington, Karen J. Bales and husband, Robert of Knoxville, TN, Glen Esther Bennett and husband Thomas of Newark, Mena Foley Hughes and husband, David J. Haley of Wilmington; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 11 am, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th Street and Bancroft Parkway, where friends are invited to visit after 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Aquinas Academy, 2370 Red Lion Road, Bear, DE 19701.
