AUTO ACCIDENT FATAL TO HOMER ALEXANDER
Homer Alexander, 45, for thirteen years local superintendent for the Western United Gas & Electric Company here, was instantly killed shorty before midnight Saturday night when his car crashed into a concrete culvert on the state highway at Old Du Quoin. Mr. Alexander was alone in the machine at the time and no details of the tragedy were available except from passing motorists who arrived on the scene shortly after. Mr. Alexander was driving westward and it is presumed he was returning home from Christopher. At the point where the accident occured there is a sharp curve near the road heading to the William Plumlee farm home.
The body was brought to the Kroeder funeral home here where Coroner Schleper conducted an inquest Sunday afternoon. The verdict was that of accidental accident.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. W. M. Maxton in charge. Interment will be made in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
The deceased was born in Taylorville, February 7, 1891, and at the time of his death was 45 years, 8 moths and 16 days of age. In 1915 he was married to Miss Eva Morgan who, with their daughter and only child, Miss Helen Marie Alexander survive.
