Rosena was born about 1766 and died December 22, 1833. John is the son of Johann Leonhardt & Esther Leip Hertzel of Germany. John was 4 years old when his family moved to NC.
John & Rosena purchased the land in Leo, NC (now Stanfield) where their home and Hartsell cemetery is located in 1794.
