Jean C. Pellicane, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick. She was 64. Mrs. Pellicane was born in New Brunswick and lived most of her life in Franklin Township. Mrs. Pellicane was employed by the Township of Franklin for the past 30 years, retiring in 2003 as the municipal clerk. Mrs. Pellicane was a communicant of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, Somerset. Mrs. Pellicane was the past president and board member of the Franklin Township Food Bank and the Presbyterian Homes in Franklin Township, a board member of the Meadows Foundation in Franklin Township, and past president of the Somerset County Clerks Association. She was the 1997 recipient of "Clerk of the Year" in the State of New Jersey. Mrs. Pellicane was active in various ministries at St. Matthias Church.
Mrs. Pellicane is survived by her husband, Joseph S. Pellicane of Somerset; and her son, Gary J. Pellicane and his wife April of Tampa, Fla.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23 from the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral mass at St. Matthias R.C. Church, Somerset. Committal service will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Township Food Bank, 60 Millstone Road, Somerset, NJ 08873.
