Mrs.Louisa Blenz, widow of Adam Blenz died at 2:40 o'clock Monday afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Will Danzeisen, 628 W. Main street. she would have been eighty five years old in March. Her death was caused by complications incident to old age.
Mrs. Blenz was born in Germany, March 4, 1839. She came to America when a young woman and with her husband came to Decatur in 1870. Mr. Blenz engaged in the butcher business here and for twenty years this was their home. About 1890 the family moved to the state of Washington. There Mr. Blenz engaged in the same business,later taking up farming and the raising of live stock. He died there seven years ago. Four years ago Mrs. Blenz returned to Decatur to live with her daughter, Mrs. Danzeisen. She was well known among the old residents of Decatur and had many friends here.
She is survived by the following children: George Henry Blenz, John Adam Blenz, Gus Blenz, Mrs. Elizabeth Burchett, Mrs. Anna Miller and Mrs.Bertha St. John, all living in the state of Washington and Mrs. Minnie Danzeisen of Decatur. She also leaves a sister, Miss Friedericka Siegman, also in Washington and a brother, Louis Siegman of Decatur.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 oclock Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Danzeisen, 828 W. Main street. The burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
