Capt. Samuel Bingham, s. of Dea. Thomas Bingham and Mary Rudd, was b. at Norwich, Conn. Mar. 28, 1685 and d. at Windham, Conn. Mar. 1, 1760, Æ 75.

On Jan. 5, 1707/8 at Windham, Samuel m. 1) Faith Ripley, dau. of Joshua Ripley, Esq. & Hannah Bradford. She was b. at Hingham, Mass. Sept. 20, 1686 and d. at Windham Feb. 11, 1720/1, Æ 35. Samuel & Faith had five children of record at Windham, who are outlined in their mother's memorial.

Samuel m. 2) Nov. 23, 1721 at Windham, Elizabeth Manning, dau. of Samuel Manning, Jr. & Deborah Spalding, b. Nov. 21, 1701 at Cambridge, Mass. She d. at Windham Mar. 27, 1780, Æ 79.

Samuel & second wife Elizabeth Manning had the following children of record at Windham, Conn.:

• vi. Elizabeth Bingham, b. Dec. 14, 1722, d. an infant on Dec. 26, 1722.

• vii. Capt. Samuel Bingham, Jr., b. Nov. 11, 1723, d. July 25, 1805 at Windham; m. 1) Nov. 10, 1748 at the Scotland Soc. Chh., then in Windham, Lydia Mudge, dau. of Charles Mudge and Rachel Mason, b. Dec. 31, 1728 at Windham, Conn. where she d. Jan. 15, 1768. Three children of the family. Samuel m. 2) May 17, 1769 also at the Scotland Soc. Chh., Ann Ripley, dau. of David Ripley and Lydia Cary, and widow of her cousin Nathaniel Ripley, b. Aug. 24, 1726 at Windham where she d. Sept. 6, 1792. There are no known children of the second marriage.

• viii. Thomas Bingham, b. Sept. 12, 1725, d. an infant on Sept. 29, 1726.

• ix. Thomas Bingham, b. June 20, 1727; no further current information.

• x. Deborah Bingham, b. May 4, 1729, d. Aug. 30, 1810 at Windham; m. Nov. 25, 1779 at Windham as his 2nd wife, Joshua Ripley, 3rd, s. of Joshua Ripley, Jr. and Mary Backus, b. Oct. 30, 1725 at Windham where he d. Dec. 19, 1787. There are no known children of this marriage. Joshua m. 1) Mar. 26, 1749 at Windham, Elizabeth Lothrop, dau. of Benjamin Lothrop and Mercy Baker, b. Mar. 9, 1730/1 at Barnstable, Mass. and d. at Windham, Conn. July 1, 1778. There were ten children by Joshua's first wife.

• xi. Mary Bingham, b. Oct. 18, 1731, d. Sept. 9, 1760 at Windham; m. May 5, 1756 at Windham as his 1st wife, Eleazer Palmer, Jr., s. of Eleazer Palmer and Mary Lillie (q.v.), b. July 7, 1726 at Windham. Four children of the marriage, but only one reached maturity to marry.

• xii. Jonathan Bingham, b. Mar. 19, 1733/4, purportedly d. May 4, 1824; no further current information.

• xiii. Abigial Bingham, b. July 18, 1736, purportedly d. Feb. 12, 1814; no further current information.
