HOLLENBACK RITES SET
Funeral services for Herbert D. Hollenback, 49, 1500 N. Ninth St., who died unexpectedly Thursday while at work at the Hackney Coop Elevator, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Grout officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery with military rites conferred by American Legion Shelton Beaty Post No. 18.
Hollenback was born April 12, 1922, at Omaha, Neb. to William D. Hollenback and Gertrude Dublinski Hollenback. He moved to Webb City as a small child and to Arkansas City in 1936.
A veteran of World War II, he was a staff sergeant in the United States Army Air Force. He was married to Janet L. Dee on April 26, 1949, in Arkansas City and had been employed at Boeing in Wichita for 19 years. He had been employed at Hackney as a feed mill operator for the past year.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Shelton Beaty Post No. 18, and the Wellington Sportsman's Club.
Survivors include his widow of the home, Beth and Ann, his mother of 1106 North B St., and two brothers, Don of 115 North C St. and James of Pine Bluff, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one son, Alan, and one daughter, Sylvia.
