Obituary:
Funeral service was held in First Brethren Church this morning, 11 a.m. for Lucile E. Baker, 68, of 104 W. Fourth St., who died Monday, April 7, 1986, 12:53 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital. The Rev. Archie Nevins, assisted by Rev. Woodrow Immel, officiated for the service. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker was born April 15, 1917 in Wabash County to Waitman Dee and Mabel (Harshman) Welch, both of whom are deceased. She married Harold W. Baker May 9, 1941, and he survives.

Other survivors include the following children: two sons, Rev. Mark Baker of Elkhart, and Frederick D. Baker of Silver Springs, Md; two daughters, Sharon R. Baker of Angola and Becky Baker of Baton Rouge, La. There are two surviving brothers: George L. Welch of Mentone, and Zara D. Welch of West Lafayette. Two grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the First Brethren Church, having served as a Sunday School teacher for many years; she was a member of the North Manchester Garden Club, the Hadassah Circle of the church, and was a substitute teacher in the Manchester Community School district. DeLaughter Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
