Tom Lamar married Miss Mary McCowan on 15 October 1905 at Graham, Texas.
James T. Lamar named the post office "Jean" after a sweetheart. He was the first postmaster.
James Lamar spent several years in Seymour, Baylor County, Texas where with L.T. Wilson built the first drug store in Seymour.
Services for James Thomas Lamar, 85, were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Graham officiated by Father John Untereiner of Breckenridge.
Mr. Lamar moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1928, but returned to Graham in 1926. He was living at the Dolman Hotel at the time of his death.
Survived by one son - Ben Lamar; nephew - J.J. Gallaher; one niece - Mrs. Bess Roach, one sister-in-law - Mrs. John Lamar
