She attended Wayland Junior College and was the owner of Graham Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Modern Martha Sunday School Class, Garden Club and the Graham Hospital Auxiliary.
Survived by two daughters - Mrs. Imogene Hays and Donna B. McClanahan; one son - Edwin Lee Smith; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
