Dr. Douglas L Miller
Funeral services for Douglas L. Miller, 61, a Hillsboro chiropractor, were held Thursday at Fuiten
Mortuary Chapel in Hillsboro with the Rev. Rich Kraljev of New Hope Community Church in Milwaukie officiating. Dr. Miller died Sept. 12 at Tuality Community Hospital following an extended illness.
Born July 4, 1922 at Virginia, Minnesota, he was raised and educated in Superior,
Wisconsin. In 1942 he entered Officer Graduate School in the Merchant Marines and served in the Pacific during World War II. In 1946 he moved to Portland, where he married Bonnie Powers on Sept. 18, 1948.
Following his marriage, he entered Western States Chiropractic College in Portland. He graduated in 1952 and worked as a chiropractic physician in Forest Grove until 1959 when he moved to Hillsboro.
Dr. Miller served as the OACP president in 1963, public relations chairman from
December 1967 to September 1970 and Oregon delegate to the American Chiropractic Association from September 1971 to 1975. He was named Chiropractor of the Year by the Oregon Association of Chiropractic Physicians in 1975. He was a past president of the Western States Chiropractic College Alumni Association and American Chiropractic Association liaison to the student ACA at Western States Chiropractic College.
Dr. Miller is survived by daughters Diane Congram of Hillsboro and Mrs. Clinton (Linda) Benton of Welches, a son Rex of Hillsboro, a granddaughter and a brother, Calvin Miller of Iron River, Wisconsin.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Western States
Chiropractic College in his memory.
