__________
COMPARING MRS. SAMUEL HATHORN (AGNES) OF LANCASTER COUNTY (next door to Chester Co.) AND THE JOHN STEEN DAUGHTER AGNES.

Samuel Hathorn's wife name was Agnes.
. John Steen's daughter Agnes married a Samuel Hathorn.

1765 Samuel Hathorn's eldest living son was Samuel, meaning there must have been a son older than Samuel who died before 1765.

Samuel and Agnes Hathorn bought the 200 acres in Lancaster Co. in 1744/45.
. In John Steen's will it appears as if this Samuel Hathorn may have lived next to the Steens. Samuel had a four year interest free obligation to live on the John Steen land from 1740/41, or 40/41 + 4 years = equals 1744/45.

(John Steen's Will - 1/40 Will Book B or 2, page 77
. In 1983 I opened and copied this document. There was a wax seal still attached to the paper. I "translated" this document that is written in old, old, old English. That was quite an interesting time consuming but fun experience. As I did that I kept wondering what the people looked like, what their village looked like, how they lived, and did they have Indian problems? I also wondered if I could have easily understood their spoken language or would it be as difficult to understand as their writing was to read or should I say translate.)
