Edna, age 90, of Mount Horeb, died on Sunday, at Meriter Hospital in Madison. She was born the daughter of John & Bertha (Eberhardt) Bigler and graduated from Mount Horeb High School. Edna married Laverne H. Aavang on Sept. 15, 1941 at the West Blue Mounds Lutheran Church. Laverne died on March 3, 1994.
Edna enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, dancing, gardening, a good game of cards, and was very active in church activities. She enjoyed being a poll worker for the Village. Edna was a member of Mount Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church, WELCA and Guild, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of Norway.
Survivors include her three children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother, Jack Bigler. Funeral services were held on Saturday, at Mount Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Twiton officiating. The Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
