"OBITUARY"
ELKHART- JOHN "Jay" Earl Crume, 73, of 220 Howland Ave., Elkhart, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday (July 6, 1990) at Michiana Community Hospital, South Bend, after a six-month illness.
He was born March 28, 1917, in Elkhart. He married Blanche Mildred Crossland on June 2, 1943, in Cabool, Texas Co., Mo. She survived with two daughters, Frances Faye Miller, Elkhart, and Rena Maryan Rawles, Ferniadian Beach, Fla.; three sons, James Edwards of South Bend, Joe Allen of Lafayette, and Billie Jay of Elkhart; a stepdaughter, Margaret Marie Bramel, Mishawaka; three stepsons, Earl Eugene Crossland of Phoenix, D. Floyd Crossland of San Antonio, Texas, and David Dean Crossland of Everton, Ariz.; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Warner Funeral Home, Osceola, where services will be at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. David E. Childs, associate pastor of the Twin Branch Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery.
Mr. Crume retired in 1986 from the First National Bank of Elkhart where he was a security guard for eight years.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
