The Hartwell Sun, 17 Nov 1944 - Mrs. Sallie Neal Reed, 50, wife of Mr. Blanton L. Reed, & one of Hart County's best known women died Weds., 8 Nov at the Anderson Co. Hosp., following one month's illness. Funeral services were held Thurs., at 4:30 pm from the Mt. Hebron Bapt. Ch. Surviving Mrs. Reed, besides her husband are a dau: Mrs. William Reynolds; 2sons: Ralph & Harold Reed; sister: Mrs. Tom Isom & brother: Mr. Robert Neal, all of Hartwell. The deceased was born in Elbert Co., 14 Apr 1885, a dau. of the late William Neal & Emma Greenway Neal. A member of Mt. Hebron Church for many years, Mrs. Reed was a woman of the highest Christian ideals. She will be greatly missed in the church, home & community. A large concourse of friends attended the funeral as a last tribute to her memory. Interment was in Mt. Hebron Cem. Pallbearers were: Messrs. Luther Alewine, Denver Heaton, Inman, Heaton, Will Parker, Hugh Dorsey McLane & Judson Cleveland. Flower girls were Mildred Alewine, Duice Reed, Vernell Reed, Marion Reed, Geneva Fleming, Georgia Jane Heaton, Genette Parker, Mary Eula Crump, Tonise McLane & Inez Parker.
