Harry Arthur Brooner was born Nov. 2, 1877, in Mason County, Illinois, the Third child of Henry & Martha (McCoy) Brooner. In 1886, he moved with his parents to Howell County, Missouri, near Pomona. He was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints June 13, 1926, at Mapleton, Kansas.

Harry Arthur Brooner and Margaret Ann Kinion were married March 16, 1898, at West Plains, Missouri. Born to this union were nine children two of which died in infancy. Levi was born Nov. 10, 1900, at West Plains, Missouri. Ben was born November 5, 1902, at Stillwell, Oklahoma. They moved to Pryor, Oklahoma some time before 1908. Leslie, Bill, Alice, Harry and Josie were born at Pryor.
Harry and Maggie separated and were divorced April 21, 1924, at Pryor, Okla.
Harry remarried on Sept. 6, 1925, to Lucy Christina (Meinecka) Fickie at Thayer, Missouri. Lucy had two children by a former marriage - Bernard Fickie and Velma (Fickie) Hedges. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Mapleton, Ks., and later to Willow Springs, Missouri. A daughter, Wilma was born to Harry and Lucy on January 2, 1930., at Willow Springs, Missouri. In October of 1945, they moved to the east edge of Fort Scott, Kansas, where Harry farmed and milked until his death on January 16, 1948.
