CHESNEE – Bertha Lee Tucker, 90, formerly of 607 Georgia Ave., died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, in Magnolia Place Nursing Home.
A native of Madison County, she was the widow of James Milton Tucker and daughter of the late Earl Anderson and Sallie Lindsey Russell. She was a charter member of Chesnee Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday School for 60 years and was a member of Wesleyan Women.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Tucker.
Surviving are two daughters, Sarah Ellen Calvert of Enoree and Louise Moore of Chesnee; a brother, Roy Russell of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Chesnee Wesleyan Church, conducted by the Revs. Dan Belcher and T.C. Childs. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at Eggers Funeral Home, Chesnee, and at other times they will be at the home of a daughter, Louise Moore, 504 Kentucky Ave., Chesnee, S.C.
