Jimmy Ray Woods of Kemp, TX passed away on January 22, 2010 at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, TX. He was born on June 12, 1943 in Grenada, Mississippi to the J Weeks and Sammie Eunice Simpson Woods. Jimmy married Jean Woods on July 17, 1965. He retired from Brinks Armored Car Security. Jimmy loved fishing and hunting. Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grays Prairie. Those left to celebrate his life are his mother Sammie Eunice Woods of Crowder, MS; his wife Jean Woods of Corinth, TX; a son Jimmy Ray Woods Jr. and wife Stephanie of Gun Barrel City, TX;A daughter Helen Woods Heer and husband Richard of Lake Dallas, TX; a sister Paula Davis and husband Tommy of Caldwell, KS and their family, Gary and Lili Anderson, Mario, Emma Mouton of Quinlan, TX, John and Rachael Davis and children Callie and Tucker Davis of Neosho, MO, Jennifer Davis of Dallas, TX, Tommy Davis Jr., US Army Kuwait; as well as grandchildren, Brittany Woods, Joshua Heer, Jason Heer, and Samantha Heer ; great grandchildren, Colton Wayne Rigby, Jasmine Woods, Macy Woods, Blane Carden and Ashleigh Carden. Services will be held Friday January 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of Grays Prairie at 13711 S FM 148 Scurry, TX 75158. Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kaufman will be handling the arrangements.
