He was a florist, owner and operator of Flowers by Dick in Chesapeake.
He was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and the church choir. He was a former board member of the Cabin Creek Clinic and former president of Charleston District TelaFlora.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Allie Alderman; and a brother, Donnie Alderman.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Alderman at home; daughters, Suzanne Britt and her fiancé, Terry Romeo, and Kimberly Alderman; son, Shawn Alderman; brothers, Jerald (Delores) Knapp and Larry (Sonja) Knapp of Winifrede, sisters, Billie Rogers of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Blair and Brooke Young, Emily Romeo, and Braelee, Allie, and Jonathan Alderman; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and his beloved dogs, Gracie and Roxy.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Cedar Grove, with Pastor Dale Elswick and Pastor Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
