Funeral Services At Silver Creek
Funeral services for Curtis Buren Langston, 52, were held from Old Silver Creek Baptist Church in Lawrence County, at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Taking part in the rites were the Rev. Mr. Harris, pastor, and the Rev. Howard H. Aultman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of this city.
Interment was in Old Silver Creek cemetery under direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Pallbearers were members of St Alban's Lodge of Columbia.
Mr. Langston, who resided on Route 2, Columbia, old Highway 13, South, was pronounced dead on arrival at Marion County General Hospital after having suffered a sudden attack at his home about mid-morning Monday.
He was a native of Lawrence County, Old Silver Creek, having been born there September 26, 1905, the son of Adolphus G. and the late Mattie Rose Williams Langston. He came to this county in 1923 and had resided here since.
Mr. Langston was employed in construction work as a machine operator with Boyd Construction Company. He was a member of Old Silver Creek Baptist Church and of St. Alban's Lodge.
Surviving are his father, Adolphus G. Langston of Route 2, Columbia; one sister Mrs. J. D. Dickson of Jackson; two brothers, L. D. Langston of Hattiesburg and Sheldon Langston of Bruce; and nine nieces and nephews.
