Funeral services for Greg A. Green, 30 of Odessa, Tex., and formerly of Sioux City and Spirit Lake, were held Monday, Aug. 17, 1:30 p.m., at the Donovan-Leyson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake with Rev. Norman Erickson officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, in Spirit Lake.
Pallbearers were Randy Peffer, Ross Peffer, Lynn Peffer, Roger Green, Alan Green and Vernon Chedester. Green died Wednesday, Aug. 12 in a car-pedestrian accident while walking accross a highway in Odessa on his way to work.
Green was born March 16, 1951, at Spirit Lake. He Attended Riverview and Cooper School and East Junior High School in Sioux City and was graduated from the Spirit Lake High School in 1969.
Green attended Iowa Lakes Community College, at Estherville, and the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Where he lived until moving to Texas about two years ago. He was employed by the Crystal Clean Janitorial Service there.
Survivors include his father, Harold, of Chicago; his mother, Vivian Rettinghaus, of Greenleaf, Kansas; a brother, Gary, of Charleston, S.C.; a sister Gaylene Coyle, of Odessa; and his maternal grandmother, Carol Weldinger, of Odessa.
