Mrs. Holt was a six-time past president of the Garden Club, an election judge in Calhoun County and also dedicated many volunteer hours to the hospital. Jessie's love was her family, needle point, crocheting and spending time working in her yard.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Dee Holt of Houston; sister Leatha Bommer of Aransas Pass; one grandchild; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband, O.E. "Speedy" Holt in 2007.
A time of viewing will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, at the Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, with a service to begin at 2 p.m. in the Richardson-Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Marcos Gohlke officiating. Burial will follow at the Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Payne, Terry Moore, John Ligon, Frank Kelly, Sonny Spearman and Terry Stansberry.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
