Ron was born in Phenix,Missouri near Walnut Grove. His parents were Charles (Charlie) John Higman and Gladys (Marie) Keen/Higman/Franks. He was married to Patricia Joan Lilley/Higman in Springfield, Missouri on August 7, 1955. They had 3 daughters,(married names:) Karen Austin, Ronda Jones and Edie Sartin and Vernon Higman. Ron and Patricia divorced around 1968. He served as a Cpl.in the U S Marine Corps in the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Springfield, Missouri. He built many beautiful homes and businesses around Springfield, Missouri. He lived in the Springfield and Pleasant Hope, Missouri areas. He was a direct descendent of the founders of Pleasant Hope,Missouri. His GG-Grandfather, James Beard Kerr built the first residence there, and he was the owner of the first Blacksmith Shop and Wagon Business. Ron is also related to the Keen, Cochran, Brady, Cowden, Kerr and Fullerton Families who started Polk County, Missouri. There is a Memorial Wall for Veterans in front of the Pleasant Hope City Park. His daughter Karen had a brick put on the Memorial Wall with his name engraved on it, and one for his Grandson Bradley Ross beside it. Ron was married second around 1969 to Mary Bass/Pinegar/Higman 1934-2013. They lived in Springfield and then Pleasant Hope and divorced around 1988. He loved spending time at Stockton and Pomme De Terre Lakes on his Pontoon Boat fishing for Crappie with his Grandchildren and his Dog Ginger. They would all get together and have a big Fish Fry and the children would serve dinner to their parents. He was a good and very well liked person who was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
