Gerald Alexander Harrison of Pickford, Michigan, was a master plumber and owner of Gerald Harrison Plumbing and Heating for 30 years. He was also a former member of the Pickford Township Board, serving as a trustee and clerk.

Mr. Harrison was 90 when he died Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Sault Ste. Marie.

He was born August 30, 1917, in Pickford to Lewis Harrison and Gertrude (nee McDowell) Harrison Thompson.

A lifelong Pickford resident, Mr. Harrison married Theora Hughes more than 68 years ago, July 22, 1939. He then went on to serve in the United States Army Air Corps detached service in Hilo, Hawaii, from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Harrison was a member of the Pickford Presbyterian Church in Pickford, where he served as a session member and trustee.

Mr. Harrison was survived by his wife, Theora; four children and their families, Venitta and Gerald Hill of Cedarville, Gerald T. and Betty Jean Harrison of Pickford, Kathleen and Steven Gerrish of Sault Ste. Marie, and Kandice and David Huyck of Milford; 10 grandchildren and their families, Gregory Hill, Gretchen and William Schafer, Kurtis and Renee Hill, Rhonda and Dale Tallman, Michael and Sandra Harrison, Courtney Gerrish, Steven and Nicole Gerrish, Marcus and Susan Huyck, Christina and Adam Wiesley, and Michelle Huyck; 11 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Nicole and Katrina Schafer, Jessica and Megan Hill, Sara, Johathan and Emily Tallman, and Shane, Samantha and Sabrina Harrison, and one brother, Clifford Harrison of Pickford.

Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Robert Thompson; five brothers, Elwood, Maitland, Lewis, Howard, and Carlyle Harrison; a sister, Audrey Hill, and a granddaughter, Tracy Harrison.
