Salomon Archuleta, Jr., 81, known as "Archie" by family and friends, succumbed to cancer on March 19, 2006 in El Paso, Texas. Archie was originally from Maxwell, New Mexico, but resided in Kansas City, Mo. for over 56 years and had recently moved to El Paso in the Fall of 2003. Archie is a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Archie became a resident of KCMO in 1947, and worked for the Steel Industry for nearly 30 years. Archie is survived by his son, David Archuleta of KC MO; his mother, 98 year old Avelina Archuleta currently residing in El Paso; his two sisters, Delia Archuleta currently residing in El Paso and Aurora "Rosie" Lopez residing in KCMO; four nephews, three nieces and numerous grand-nieces/nephews. Archie will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him. His interment will be in the Maxwell Cemetery, Maxwell, New Mexico.
