J. Walfred Anderson

J. Walfred Anderson, son of Andrew and Christine Anderson, was born at Woodhull, Illinois, on April 2, 1883. He departed from this life at the Smith Home in Clay Center, Nebraska, early Saturday morning, September 5, 1952, at the age of 69 years, five months and four days.

As a young man, Mr. Anderson came to Nebraska and spent a greater part of his life at Ong and community. He was united in marriage with Miss Emma Danielson on December 2, 1907. This union was blessed with eight children. They are: Iva, John, Lela, Mitchell, Morris, Darrel and Glen and Cecil who preceded their father in death.

For some years Mr. Anderson's occupation was that of farmer. Then, he was a custodian at the County Court House in Clay Center and later he worked at the Clarke Hotel in Hastings. After his health failed, he made his home at the Smith Home in Clay Center.

His passing leaves his wife, six children and other relatives on their pilgrimage through life. "Though I walk in the midst of trouble thou wilt revive me." Psalm 138:7a. Lord "teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom."

On Tuesday morning, September 9, funeral services for Mr. Anderson were held at the graveside followed by the committal at the Ong Cemetery.

Logan Lee, Everett Benson, Joe Munsel, Abel Christenson, E. L. Smock and Fred Zetterman were the pallbearers. Rev. Hilmer Larson of Ong was in charge of the services.
