Charleston - Mrs. Charlotte Ann Smith of Rock Island, Ill., formerly of Mississippi County, died Saturday at St. Anthony's Care Center in Rock Island following an extended illness.
The former Miss Charlotte Ann Barnbrook was 81 years old. She was born in Robinson, Ill., on Nov. 3, 1894.
A former schoolteacher, she taught at Birds Mill in Mississippi County. In 1922, she married Hugh R. Smith, who preceded her in death in 1937.
She had resided in Moline and Rock Island for the past 26 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Steckel.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church here with burial in the IOOF Cemetery here.
